Kitchen fire damages Peoria home - HOI ABC

PEORIA, Ill. (HOI) — An early morning kitchen fire caused $40,000 in damage early Saturday morning in Peoria.

Firefighters say it broke out around 5:10 AM Saturday at 1223 W. Willow Lane.

There, firefighters were met by the homeowner in the front of the house, who said there was a fire in the kitchen area.

Firefighters quickly contained the fire to the kitchen area, putting it out with in 10 minutes.

The homeowner, and two dogs were able to escape unharmed.

The cause of the fire is unclear at this time.
