A Harmonist Thanksgiving Feast will be held at Thrall’s Opera House in New Harmony on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 6-8 p.m.

Learn how Harmonists prepared their food in the early 1800s and enjoy a selection of 19th Century recipes that the Harmonists would have eaten.

Reservations required by Nov. 22. Tickets are $25 for Indiana State Museum members, $30 for non-members.

Restaurants of Downtown Henderson (Hometown Roots, Sidewalk Café, Rookies Rockhouse on the River and Tacoholics) are partnering to offer a Burgoo Extravaganza. Burgoo will be sold by the gallon for $25. Benefits will provide memberships to the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club to needy children. Purchase tickets before the event at any of the participating restaurants, then stop by the Sidewalk Café on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 1-3 p.m. to pick up.

Sip, Shop and Stroll your way down West Franklin Street on Friday, Nov. 22 from 4-8 p.m. Shops will be open extended hours with holiday deals and specials for this event only. All businesses will be offering food and beverage refreshments, some alcoholic, some not.

Schymik’s Kitchen, the new Haynie's Corner restaurant by Chef Scott Schymik of Sauced, will be opening on Friday, Nov. 22.

The restaurant will be located in the former Dapper Pig building at 1112 Parrett St., just across the street from Sauced. The restaurant will have an extensive wine list and a menu concentrating on global shared plates.

The Annual Aurora Gingerbread House Fundraiser will take place Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Tropicana Evansville.

Visitors to the fundraiser will enjoy watching the houses be built, entertainment, a silent auction, pictures with Santa and kids’ graham cracker house building sponsored by Orange Leaf (and they can eat it when finished). All proceeds will help Aurora end homelessness in Evansville. Cash donations will also be gladly received to help with Aurora’s many outreach programs for Evansville’s homeless.
